After a careful amount of consideration, I regret to inform you all that I am shutting down the embed tool as of today. Your enthusiastic adoption of this tool and the creative ways you've integrated embedded content have truly impressed me. I am immensely grateful for your support and innovative usage over the years.
Unfortunately, I have received many reports of the service being used for phishing and this has been one of the main deciding factors in the shut down of the embed tool. It has never been my intention to platform a bypass which allowed for phishing URLs to get posted and masked so that they could deceive unsuspecting users. In the nearly 3 years of running the service, I never expected it to receive the amount of usage it did and I did not know what the necessary safeguards were in order to ensure a positive experience for all users.
